anything with commission in the title: FAIL

Major Toht, who you may remember melted off the public scene in 1981 was back showing his reconstructed self today on capitol hill (Compare photo of premelt Toht – below with present Toht in video- belower). Note the similarities as well as the bizarre accent when he explains to vermont senator, patrick leahy, why a “truth commision” on the bush administration needs no further consideration.

Toht, who now slithers under the alias, David Rivkin (a law abiding law bender by day and a reptilian card counter by night), said that all in all, things hadn’t been too bad during the war on tear-roar. A truth commission, as he sees it, is uncalled for and risky for the constitution (?) as it was… intended (?) x (?)^2

For once, I agree with Major Toht. I mean a “truth commission”?! Have we run out of creative names? what commission (warren, 9-11 or otherwise) ever amounted to anything other than a new york times best seller disappointment?! Save the money so we can give it to the children. it’s all about the children.

European Commission, Federal Trade Commission,… yes, you have a good point.

The best one is, perhaps, this one:

Probably they are thinking of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in South Africa (TRC) which spawned many imitations. Of course, one of the controversial aspects of the original TRC was that perpetrators could receive amnesty from prosecution in return for testimony. -t
